Rhythm Kings return to Alley Pub this Saturday!

Come on out this Saturday, September 22, at 9:30 for more great music from the Rhythm Kings. We’ll be at the Alley Pub in Bellevue. This is a really great place for food, drink, and to watch the tail end of the day’s college football games with some great music playing.

If it is a nice evening, the walls open up to the outside, and there is a great outside seating area. Leslie is planning to come out and sit in with us.

We played last week at the Alley Pub in Bellevue. A great pub tucked away behind a shopping center in Bellevue, TN.

We had a great time. The crowd was great, and by around 11:00 the place was jammed. The place has garage-style doors that open to the outside and the weather was good, so the doors were opened.

We love to have quality artists sit in with us, and several showed up. The highlight of the evening was when Chester Thompson, formerly the drummer for Genesis, and Phil Collins, sat in during our rendition of Broadway.

Take a listen.

Later in the evening, Jace Everett showed up and sat in singing an amazing version of Mustang Sally.

Check this out also. He’s an amazing singer.

The Rhythm Kings are a blues/rock/jazz jam band, featuring some of the finest musicians in Nashville playing the music they love best.

Regular guitarists fronting the band include Doug McCall and John Mahoney.

Mahoney has performed with The Platters (Herb Reed), The Drifters, The Coasters, and the Ink Spots, and has done studio sessions for Allison Krauss, Neil Young, Natalie Cole, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Doc Watson, Marty Stuart and Lawrence Dermer (Miami Sound Machine).

Doug McCall, the band’s leader, is Nashville’s best kept secret on blues guitar. Ask around and you’ll find that folks like Phil Keaggy know who he is and respect his talent.

Drummer Fran Breen has performed and recorded with Lucinda Williams, the Waterboys, Riverdance musical, The Commitments (soundtrack), Shelby Lynn, Nancy Griffith, and Mary Black.
